English Translation of Thank you letter:

Dear Benefactors/Benefactresses Of New Hope 2008 Association,

My name is Vũ Ngọc Ánh, the recipient of your 1000USD scholarship. I am writing to express the great appreciation my family and I feel about your gift. It will be of enormous help to my family to pay for school fees and to allow me to hopefully attend university.  It has eased some of the hardship my parents have had in raising me, particularly with their health concerns.

My mother, who is unwell, travels daily with my sister so that she can attend work, a long distance away.   My younger sister is 16 years old, in ninth grade, and is required to work in order to gain the benefit of my studying. I have felt helpless about this situation and often cry because I can't help.  My father, a kidney patient, farms in order to bring a small amount of income for my family.

Your generous scholarship has given my parents the chance to improve their health and help I finish school, and maybe go on to university. I hope you will continue financially support me so I can complete my 4 years in university. I would also like to you to know that this Scholarship is not only helping my parents, but also our neighbourhood where we stay everyone can share in our happiness as well.

I wish your Association great success in the future and that you can continue to help students like me achieve their dreams. I promise to study hard to repay your gratitude. The meaning of your help is vast for me and for youths in Vietnam.
